(see below for exceptions)

WE DO NOT SHIP BIRDS, LOCAL PICKUP IN KANSAS CITY AREA ONLY.

If you are interested in purchasing a baby, you can schedule an appointment to see them by emailing the nursery manager, Julie Morriss, at BirdNurseJulie@cs.com.

Note: For those purchasing one of our babies that is still handfeeding, we offer free handfeeding lessons.  It can be a fun, enjoyable way to interact with your baby and get to know their personality.  We do not recommend that anyone purchase an unweaned bird if you have not had extensive experience handfeeding.  It is very easy to kill a baby by making a mistake.  We will only sell unweaned babies if you make several visits and practice feeding multiple babies.  We do not offer the 30 day health guarantee on unweaned chicks.

BIRDS FOR SALE

Conures
Double Yellow Head Amazon: May breed spring or summer
These are known as great talkers, usually very outgoing, and can be loud.  The babies have very little yellow, and the color extends farther down the neck as they age.

Blue Front Amazons:  May breed spring or summer
Very high in talking ability, these birds come packed with personality.  They love to clown and imitate their owner's voice as well as a wide range of other sounds.  Beautifully marked with blue and yellow on the head, they are one of the most colorful of the common Amazon species.  $750.

Orange Wing Amazons: May breed spring or summer
Considered to be excellent pets because of their sweet, affectionate personalities, they are among the calmest of the Amazon species.  Orange Wings can learn to talk, and tend not to be screamers as some other members of the Amazon family may be.  $650.
Congo African Greys: Not currently breeding for us
Widely considered the best talking parrots, the Greys are extremely intelligent.  One famous bird, "Alex", has been featured in television and magazines for his performance on IQ tests.  Greys may get bored easily if left for many hours with nothing to do.  $900.

Timneh African Greys:  Not currently breeding for us
Slightly smaller and lesser known than their cousins the Congos, the Timnehs are sweet tempered, affectionate birds with calm personalities and good talking abilities.  Click the box "Baby African Greys" above to see pictures of the baby and our adults.  $800.

Green Cheek Conures: May breed spring or summer
These little guys are so popular they have their own websites.  Although small, they have big personalities, are very affectionate and curious.  They can learn to speak a few words.  They are great first birds for kids or apartment dwellers.  $150.

Nanday Conures: Pair stopped breeding
Nandays are known for their intelligent, clownlike personalities.  They love to learn tricks and can learn to talk.  Their coloration is quite striking, and while they have a reputation of being quite noisy, when kept as a single pet they are much quieter.  $150.

Mitred Conures: Pair stopped breeding
One of the largest conures at 15 inches long, this bird has a striking red coloration on the head.  They are considered good talkers and are very active, curious birds that love to play.  $250.

Blue Crown Conures: Pair stopped breeding
Very sweet birds, and considered one of the best talking conure species.  Featured in the movie "Paulie", they are very intelligent and highly social.  Their name comes from the beautiful blue color of their heads.  $300..

White Eyed Conures: Pair stopped breeding
This bird's personality can be more reserved, but they are very affectionate and love interaction with their human "flock".  They can have good talking ability and are very colorful if you get a peek at the bright red and yellow under their wings.  $250.

Dusky Conures: May breed this summer
Hand raised Dusky Conures make exceptional pets.  One of the gentlest and sweetest of the conure species, they can bond very strongly with their owners.  They are a good choice for apartment dwellers or people who want a quieter conure since they are not as loud as many other birds their size.  $250.

Red Throated and Green Conures: Pairs stopped breeding
These birds are members of the same species, but the Red Throat is considered a subspecies of the Green Conure.  Both are relatively rare.  Quite intelligent, these birds can learn to talk and do tricks.  They are very affectionate and interactive, enjoying whatever activities you are engaged in.  $250.

Sun Conures: EGGS EXPECTED SPRING OR SUMMER
Sun Conures are highly prized for their very bright colors.  However, they can be quite loud, and are not one of the better talking Conure species, but they can learn a few words.  They are often quite affectionate and can learn tricks.  If our birds ever figure out how to make babies, they will sell for $350 each.

Other species: Not breeding
We also have a pair of Maroon Bellied Conures which are very similar to the Green Cheeks, that have not yet laid eggs.  Our pair of Patagonian Conures, which are by far the largest of the Conure family, also has not yet produced.
